Chennai: Two murder accused issued life threats to a woman police constable right inside a court premises on Friday, prompting police to slap a new case against them.
The two Ilaya, 33, and ‘Kaatu’ Raja, 33 – had been brought to a sessions court housed at Singaravelar Maaligai complex, where the Chennai district collectorate is also located.
According to sources, the duo had brought to the court in connection with a murder case registered against them by ICF police station in 2013.Trial in the case is underway at the additional sessions court on collectorate campus on Rajaji Salai.
On Friday, while the main accused in the case appeared before the court for hearing, Ilaya and ‘Kaatu’ Raja did not appear before the court and were secured by the police and produced before the court in the post-noon session.
